For those who are following my adventures in internet marketing segment, which usually is posted on wednesdays, you will notice that I love wordpress and that getting as much exposure is paramount to being successful if you want to make money online.
The MMO (Making Money Online) game is a tough one. There are a million ways to make money online obviously. Today we will focus on blogs and how a blog can make you money.
A few years back, I didn’t know what the heck blogging was all about. I thought it was some folks who happened to write their lives on a website for everybody to know about. Heck, I didn’t know a line of php code to save my life until about a year later, and forget asking me what mysql was.
I began blogging when I started to know the technologies of php and data warehousing. With the ability of data warehousing, I learned how to store bits of information, which could be useful for building a blog, which I did.
I called the blog software “atmosphere.” Wasn’t looking to go anywhere major with the software, as I would just use it for self purpose. Yeah, I did pathetic with Adsense, and didn’t even know what an affiliate network was, but I used the blog to spew vitriol about problems, or talk about the wonderful musings on life and such.
amazingly I got around well, but around 2008, I wasn’t getting insane traffic, and wasn’t happy with the progress of building a self designed CMS system. So I decided to get into wordpress and was amazed with the options and expandability. Being able to network to other social media sites, and such, I started to go gangbusters on using wordpress on all of my news sites, that previously used atmosphere. Unfortunately, I had to ditch atmosphere, and since the fact, I have had way more readers, and more attention brought to my blogs.
One product I would like to recommend, is Atomic Blogging. It is written by Alvin Phang, and has endorsements from top bloggers such as John Chow, Ewen Chia, and Carlo Cab. If that doesn’t motivate you right there, I do not know what will.
Blogging is a tough sport, and I have learned first hand, that with a blog, you are constantly walking on eggshells to get the edge in your topic, niche, whatever. To be anywhere near flowing with traffic and being a top blogger, you have to rise to the occassion and know the best possible ways to blog.
